Forfeiture

The forfeiture periods (preclusion periods) set time limits on the exercise of a subjective right. Forfeiture must be considered ex officio. Forfeiture usually concerns rights of modification, which have to be asserted by way of action for modification. Forfeiture causes the destruction of the right in question.
